(More customer reviews)The price couldn't be beat for a 8oz popper with a cart. The motor is very quiet and the heater heats up quickly, 3-4 minutes and the kernels start popping. I am really happy with this product!
A few hints: Use canola oil and small- medium size bulk kernels! Coconut oil will clog your arteries and tastes gross. The worst tasting stuff is in the premeasured packets with the salt, coconut oil and kernels. Yuk!
Canola tastes clean, and is healthy. Mix popcorn salt right in with the corn and oil. I've tried different flavorings but all have tased fake and prefer plain popcorn, oil & salt.
I use about a cup of kernels, 1/2 cup of oil and 1/2 heaping teaspoon of salt. Makes enough for four bags of popcorn and the house smells great! As you hear the popping slow down, turn off the heater and stirrer
buttons and dump the bucket. The kids love to watch the popocorn spill out of the bucket as it pops but mkae sure an adult does the popping as this is not a toy and gets very hot. The warmer lamp works well to
keep the popcorn fresh for an hour or so!
Do all the kernels pop? No, about 1/4th get pushed up and out by the popping corn, before they can pop but I think that's the nature of these types pf poppers, not just this one.
Last, it takes a good 10 minutes to clean after every use. Detach the connection and remove the bucket to clean. It's much easier. Spray a little windex on a paper towel to do the inside, glass and metal.
I've used mine 20 times and could not be happier. 10x better than microwave popcorn and way more fun for the kids!
