(More customer reviews)This product literally fell apart when I used is the first time.The cover (which is held on by a teardrop system) is locked into place with a piece of metal not much thicker than tin foil).When I went to pour the caramel glazed popcorn into my bowl, the drive stuck, the metal lock broke, the hot metal cover fell to the ground, the nut holding the little plastic popcorn handle flew off (into my popcorn mess... which I discovered later along with the locking mechanism), and the wires (which are really no thicker than the original style) became twisted.If this product truly has a 25-year warranty, I think they may want to re-think the design.
In addition, be prepared to wear a long oven mitt when holding the crank as now your hand is cranking directly above the unit, and even though there are only two vents pointing outward, there is enough steam escaping through the cover to "cook" your forearm pretty good (and yes, I was wearing a mitt).
